Spirit of Life is a non-denominational full gospel ministry. We believe in the fivefold ministry gifts to the Church, including Pastor, Teacher, Prophet, Evangelist and Apostle. Each of these are different and are needed gifts for the body of Christ to come into maturity and unity. We would call ourselves lively stones, building up the body of Christ and through preaching and teaching of the word of God enable people to become all they need to be for the Kingdom of God.
Our Ministry was birthed by a vision that our late Pastor Brother Jim Todd received that Highlands County was the hub of Florida. It is central to either coast of Florida, and can reach out to thousands of people. Brother Jim Pastored here in Sebring for eight years in the early 70's, then did evangelism work and church planting for 20 years until the Lord called him back to Sebring, FL. in 2002. In 2011 the Lord called him home, but Pastor Helen Sanders has continued on with the work. Helen received a vision from the Lord where Jesus showed her that Highlands County had an unacceptable amount of people dying every day and going to Hell, and that He was not pleased. It has been her strong passion ever since to give the Gospel out to each soul she has an opportunity to witness to. Our ministry provides discipleship to teach people how to share their faith with others, and to become "Fishers of Men". With each challenge we have encountered, we became stronger in our faith. We invite you to become a part of the church today and a piece of its history tomorrow.
Pastor Jim entered into God's glory in 2011, but the vision still burns in the heart of our leadership. We continue to move forward, knowing that the Lord is guiding us by His Holy Spirit!
In September 2012 Pastor Helen married Russell Sanders. Together the vision for Spirit of Life is continuing to expand. We see our ministry as an international call to take the word to the nations. We thank God for the expanded vision, and expect great things to happen!
Pastor Dan Brines was called to this ministry in 2004. He started as a strong worshiper in the Praise Team, then became a deacon. Dan was ordained into the ministry later. Every ministry needs strong support, and Dan Brines has proven himself over and over. in 2016 Dan had cancer, but against all odds, he has shown the healing power of Jesus in his body. He is strong, well, and continues to be used by God.
On February 16, 2018 Pastor Dan shed his mortal body and took on immortality. His fight with cancer ended, and a glorified body awaited him in glory. He will be greatly missed. If you are interested in donating monetary gifts for his funeral expenses please send them to the ministry and it will be given to his family to take care of expenses. Thanks!
