Proverbs 3:13-15 (NKJV) “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding : for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver (all money), and her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the (other) things you may desire cannot compare with her.” Verses 16-18 count the benefits of long life: riches, honor, pleasantness and peace, and they (wisdom and understanding) become like a tree of life to you.

Wisdom uses knowledge, understanding and good judgment to make right choices. It does not act upon impulse or pre-conceived ideas. It is not reactionary.

The wisdom of this world, of man, is foolishness with God, the ALL WISE ONE. We don’t always make the best (wisest) choices. If you wish wisdom, go to the ultimate source and ask. James 1:5 (KJV) says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God…and it shall be given him.” In John 16:24 Jesus said “…ask (in my name) and ye shall receive…” again He said in Matt. 21:22 “and all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

I also ask the Father for understanding, even like unto His own understanding. Wisdom and understanding go together, hand in hand. We can ask for both. Then we must consciously and deliberately walk (live) in them.

Life will treat us so much better as we live that way. The favor of God and man will come our way.
