SEARCHING DILIGENTLY

In the book of Hebrews, (Hebrews 11:6) it tells us that God rewards those that diligently seek him. Jeremiah (Jeremiah 29:13) also says you will find God if you search for Him with your whole heart.

Many don’t believe in God, and until they search for Him they won’t find Him. Diligence is defined as careful and persistent work or effort. These scriptures simply mean you keep seeking until you find the one that has the answers. Diligence also means conscientious, thoroughness, steadfastness. It means that you don’t quit.

Life is full of tests and trials my friends. It has been that way since the beginning. God could have come into the garden when Satan tempted Eve, and driven him out of the garden but God doesn’t work that way. He does not want to pull our strings like puppets and make us jump as he pulls. He wants us to learn his will through studying His word. It doesn’t come easy, and many don’t know where to begin.

Reading the scriptures feeds your spirit being, and causes it to become stronger. Prayer is also important. Prayer is simply talking to God and letting Him know what is on your mind. He wants this more than you can imagine. He wants to communicate with his children. God wants to reward us when we purposely take time to seek Him.

If you have ever been in love, you will remember that you wanted to spend time with that person. You wanted to study their face and expressions. You wanted to know everything about them. You desired to be with them more than anyone else. This is how it is with God. He loves us more than anyone else could. He wants to spend time with us, lavishing his love on us.

Many have been taught that God has a big stick and will beat us up for failing. That is not the God of the Bible. Yes, there is discipline when we sin, but it is always given to bring us back to him—not push us away from Him. I guarantee the more you spend time with God, the more you will want to spend time with him. He is the only one that will never leave you. He is the only one that will never forsake you. If he has a refrigerator, your picture would be there. He has a great plan for you, but you will have to spend time with Him to find out what it is. If you haven’t been doing this, don’t put it off. Life is so much sweeter when you spend time with the one that loves you.
