Living waters is mentioned in the Old Testament by the prophet Jeremiah (Jer. 2:13) as the Lord told him, “for my people have committed…evils; they have forsaken me the fountains of living waters…” Here God shows that He is the source of living waters. In the incident of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:6-39) Jesus said to her, “Whosoever drinketh of this (physical ) water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst again…it shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (v.v. 13-14) Jesus further identifies himself (God) as the source in John 7:37-38. “If any man thirst (spiritually) let him come to Me and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the (O.T.) scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Verse 39 then reveals the Holy Ghost as the One who imparts it into us. Ephesians 5:25-27 also speaks of the water of the word which sanctifies us (sets apart unto God) and cleanses us. Jesus is the Word. The Holy Spirit reveals His fullness to us, a cleansing infilling. When we have Jesus, the Living Word, “within us”, we have the source of living water. He will fill our innermost being as we seek his fullness.

Francis Frangipane, in seeking God’s fullness was given one drop of living water. It was a life- changing experience. Later in his walk with God he asked for more of that “living water.” God’s reply was, “One drop is all you need.” Friends, Jesus blood covers it all. One drop of His blood meets all your needs. One drop of His blood opens up the river of life to you, His living water. Look to Him to satisfy your soul’s every need. He is the Word. He is the source of that Living Water. You may be asking God to give you more of Him, but you already have Him. He just needs more of YOU! As you seek Him, it is yourself that you bring.
