LIGHT AND DARKNESS
I John 1:5-6 (NKJV) “…God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”
Light and darkness cannot occupy the same space. In a dark room, if you bring in the smallest light, even a candle or a “night light,” there is then light in the room and you can see.
God is light. Jesus is our Truth and our Light. If we claim that we have a relationship with Him, but we follow a different “light,” we are deceiving ourselves. There is only one Truth and His name is Jesus. If you claim Jesus as your savior, but you follow another spiritual path, or a worldly path, then Jesus is not truly your Lord and God.
My late wife was from the Philippine Islands where Roman Catholicism is the dominant religion. She had a grandmother who was a devout practicing Catholic, but she was also a practicing witch. She saw no contradiction between her Christian religion and her white witchcraft. Unfortunately, her witchcraft drew its power from a source other than Jesus. When the source is other than God (Jesus) it is witchcraft, which God clearly condemns in scripture. (see Deuteronomy 18:10-13) It doesn’t matter if it is black, white, or gray, it is still witchcraft which is rebellion against God’s authority by following a different authority or practice. Doing this opens up the demonic realm. Remember, that Satan can appear as an “angel of light” and likewise his demons can be “transformed as the ministers (angels) of righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 11:14-1) While they seem to be good, they seem to be of the light, they seem “white” like the light, they actually come to deceive people.
Don’t be deceived by what appears to be good. Let Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit alone be your source. Any other source comes from hell, and will lead you on the road to hell.
